ESTHER M. LANDHUIS, age 82, of rural Edgerton, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at her home. She was born May 9, 1928, in Hull, IA, to Jacob and Wilhelmina (Scholten) DeJong. She attended school in Hull, IA. Esther married Joe Landhuis on September 25, 1947, at the DeJong farm in Rock County. To this union four children were brought into this world, Linda (Conrad) Brouwer, Leota; Laura (Gale) Oldre, Watertown, SD; Wayne (JoAnne) Landhuis, Edgerton; and Ardean Landhuis, West Palm Beach, FL. She was a member of the Bethel Reformed Church in Leota. Left to cherish her memory are her four children; seven grandchildren, Faron (Kelly) Brouwer, Las Vegas, NV; Vincent (April) Brouwer, Jasper; Sheila Brouwer, Sioux Falls, SD; Eric Oldre, Sioux Falls, SD; Jacob (Missy) Landhuis, Chandler; Jessica Landhuis, St. Cloud; and Jeremy Landhuis, Marshall; seven great grandchildren, Alisha, Victoria & Kaitlynn Brouwer; Jordan & Justin DeGroot; and Drew & Derek Ernst; brother, LeRoy (Joyce) DeJong, Oak Harbor, WA; two sisters, Jean (Cornie) Van Lant, Chandler; and Arla (Dick) Ruiter, Leota; sister-in-law, Martha DeJong, Leota; and a brother-in-law, Ron Pronk, Leota. She was greeted at heavens gate by her parents; husband, Joe; brother, Don DeJong; and a sister, Jackie Pronk.
