ESTHER LOONAN, age 94, of Lismore, died Thursday, November 18, 2010, at the Sanford Luverne Hospital. She was born August 22, 1916, in Kenneth, to John Sr. and Margaret (Gengler) Lorang. She graduated from St. Anthony Catholic School. Esther married Homer Loonan on February 4, 1941, in Lismore. After their marriage, the couple farmed NW of Lismore and Esther also worked as a secretary for GTA Elevator in Lismore until 1959. She later was a rural mail carrier for the USPS in Lismore. Esther was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and an active member of St. Anthony CCW, Catholic Daughters and Christian Mothers. She also was a member of the Lismore Sewing Club and the Lismore Senior Citizens. Esther enjoyed bowling, pinochle, quilting, and was an avid gardener. She enjoyed traveling, having literally traveled the world. Esther loved the land and driving around looking at nature. Esther is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, A.J. ?Preacher? & LeWayne Lorang, San Diego, CA; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer, on November 18, 1992; three brothers, John Jr., Nick & Joe Lorang; and six sisters, Sr. Eileen Lorang, Genevieve Lorang, Lucille Lais, Jose Phillips, Mary Lacore & Aggie Lorang.
