ESTHER MULLIGAN, age 99, of Luverne, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at the Tuff Memorial Home, in Hills. She was born November 6, 1907, in Lime Creek, Murray County, MN, one of fifteen children to Grove and Belle (Lyons) Snyder. She attended school in Rushmore. Esther married Frank Mulligan on October 12, 1926, in Windom. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Jackson & Nobles Counties. In 1951, they moved to Luverne where Esther worked at various restaurants. She became a resident of the Tuff Memorial Home on February 4, 2004. She was a member of St. Catherines Catholic Church, in Luverne and the WCCW. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening & cooking. Esther is survived by eight children and their spouses, Robert & Mary Jean Mulligan, Erin, WI; John ?Jack? & Delores Mulligan, rural Luverne; James & Dorothy Mulligan, Warminster, PA; Richard Mulligan, Luverne; William & Mary Lou Mulligan, Luverne; Carol Van Orden, Portland, OR; Mike Mulligan, Luverne; and Rosie & Dale Moerke, Luverne; thirty seven grandchildren; fifty three great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Edith Cross, Wenonah, IL; and Yvonne Schuette, St. James. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank, in 1969; two sons, Gene, in 2004; and Don, in 2003; grandson, Danny Mulligan; great grandson, John Charles Mulligan; great great grandson, Gavin Oye; four brothers, Grove, Stanley, Dale and Adelmer; and eight sisters, Alice, Florence, Ruth, Cecil, Elnora, Avis, Margie & Phyllis.
