EUGENE OWENS, age 90, of Adrian, died Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center. He was born July 4, 1934, in Adrian, to Wayne and Laura (Greve) Owens. Gene graduated from Adrian High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a Radio Engineer. Gene lived in Adrian most of his life. He worked at Hudson Construction, in Worthington, helping to build the Worthington Hospital and Worthington Community College before retiring. He was a member of the Adrian United Methodist Church and the Adrian American Legion. Gene had the key to the city of Adrian. He was always ready to help anyone. He volunteered at Adrian Glass, Schutz Hardware and later, Adrian Hardware. He enjoyed polka music, fishing, and spending time with his nieces & nephews. Gene is survived by his sister, Bev (Dave) Kohler, Adrian; sister-in-law, Carol Owens, Elk River; four nieces & nephews, Lori Kruse, Teri (Jason) Borchers, Dan (Trish) Owens and Jason (Michelle) Owens; eight great-nieces & nephews, Chantal (Jeremy) Potter, Heather (Andy Van Horsen) Kruse, Ryder Kruse, Ryan Kruse, Kelsey (Trevor) Oswald; James Owens, Justin Owens and Brynn Owens; and six great-great-nieces & nephews, Audrina, Aliyah, Alyvia, Asher, Jax and Hanna. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jim and Gary Owens.

A time of fellowship will be from 1-4 pm Saturday January 4 at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. Memorial service will be 4 pm Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. Burial will take place at a later date.
