EVELYN RACHUY, age 87, of Worthington, died Friday, December 21, 2007, at Crossroads Care Center, in Worthington, She was born May 3, 1920, in rural Little Rock, IA, to John and Susie (Martens) Christians. She attended country school in rural Little Rock, IA. Evelyn married Ernest Rachuy on August 5, 1940. After their marriage, the couple lived and farmed by Little Rock, IA. In 1947, they moved to Sibley, IA, where Evelyn worked at Weldon Farms which later became Heinz, before retiring in 1980. She moved to Worthington in December of 1996. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, in Sibley, IA; and the Ladies Aid, where she volunteered hanging Alter decorations & floral arrangements for the church. She enjoyed flowers and especially her grandchildren & great grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by her two children, Howard (Janet) Rachuy, Worthington; and Ercell Dykstra, Worthington; six grandchildren, Rhonda (Tim) Hawkinson, Terry (Arlene) Rachuy, Lisa (Joe) Shediak, Kathleen (Brian) Mullaney, Troy Dykstra & Todd (Stacy) Dykstra; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Pearl Jacobsma, Sibley, IA; and Johnnie (Ron) Olson, Hanning. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest, in January of 1968; son-in-law, Robert Dykstra; an infant brother; two brothers, Perce & Merle Christians; and two sisters, Gladys Dicus & Tillie Vander Wilt.
