Evelyn Clara Ackerman, age 89, of Tracy, died Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Generations Memory Care in Mankato. She was born June 18, 1934 in Slayton, MN. to Joseph and Rosella (Beech) Schreier. She grew up on the family farm near Currie, MN.

On June 23, 1954 she married Daniel Ackerman at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Currie. Following their marriage they farmed together near Tracy, MN. and raised their 8 children. Evelyn passed away Nov. 19, 2023 peacefully at Generations Memory Care in Mankato, MN. at the age of 89. Evelyn was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed square dancing, gardening, baking, playing cards at the senior centers in Tracy, Garvin and Balaton, MN. She crocheted many afghans and gave each grandchild one for graduation, she enjoyed spending time with all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her husband Daniel passed away Sept. 30, 2020.

Survivors include her 8 children and spouses, Bruce (Kathy) Ackerman of Fulda, MN. Eileen (Dale) Huerkamp of Royalton, MN. Mary (Mark) Smith of Shakopee, MN. Theresa (Steven) Thill of Worthington, MN. Henry Ackerman of Mankato, MN. Doris Ackerman of Mankato, MN. Terry Ackerman of Tracy, MN. Ronald (Monica) Ackerman of Hadley, MN. 16 Grandchildren and 25 Great Grandchildren. Siblings David (Alice) Schreier of Currie, MN. Mary Foster of Maple Grove, MN. sister-in-laws Beverly Schreier, Slayton, MN. June Schreier, Slayton, MN. Lita Schreier, Currie, MN. Mary Schreier, Emily, MN.

She was preceded In death by her parents, husband Daniel Ackerman, grandson Caleb Ackerman, great granddaughter Neviah Ackerman, 5 brothers John (Barb) Schreier, Vincent Schreier, Duane Schreier, Gerald Schreier, and Francis Schreier, sister Bernadine (Ivan) Kremer, brother-in-law Darrell Foster and her parents-in-law Clarence and Lilly Ackerman. Funeral services will be at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Currie, MN. at 10:30 on Friday Dec. 1, 2023 and visitation Thursday 4-6 Nov. 30 at the IHM Catholic Church in Currie, MN. Interment will be at the IHM Catholic Church cemetery in Currie, MN.
