FANNY OLTMANS, age 102, of Adrian, formerly of Rushmore, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the Sanford Adrian Care Center in Adrian. She was born December 7, 1905 to Harm and Kattie (Lupkes) Johnson in Grundy Center, IA. The family moved to a farm northwest of Rushmore where Fanny received her schooling in District #69. The Johnson family later moved to a farm on the edge of Rushmore which they purchased. Fanny worked as a housekeeper for different families. Fanny was united in marriage to Ben Oltmans on April 26, 1930. They lived in Rushmore and Fanny was a homemaker. She did gardening and loved her sewing. Her home was always dust free and was a member of the Rushmore Senior Citizens. She was also a member of Eastfriesland Church of Christ. Fanny is survived by her brother John Johnson, Rushmore and a brother-in-law, Wesley Ashbaugh, Rushmore and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her three brothers and two sisters.
