FERN LINNEA BICKETT, age 90, of Adrian, went to be with her Savior on Saturday January 31, 2009, at the Sanford Nursing Home, Adrian MN, where she resided for the past 10 years. Fern was born November 6, 1918, in Union County near Alcester, South Dakota, to Joseph Andrew and Marie Elvira (Moline) Miller. She lived on the family farm until she graduated from West Union Country School in 1932. She worked as a ?hired girl? during the Depression of the 1930?s. She married Roscoe Bickett at the Rock County Court House, March 14, 1940. They were farming near Alcester when their first daughter Nancy was born in 1941. In January of 1944, Fern and Nan traveled by Army Troop Train to Vancouver WA. While her husband worked at the shipyards, Fern had their second daughter Sallie (Esther) Lennea. At the end of WWII, they returned to Alcester. The Bicketts moved to Adrian MN, in 1954. Fern worked at the Safeway (Brentwood) egg candling plant in Adrian from 1955 until 1971. She worked in the Adrian Public school system until her retirement in 1980. Fern and Roscoe enjoyed traveling to visit family. Fern later made several trips to both coasts. She was active in the First Baptist Church all of her life. She taught Sunday School at the Adrian First Baptist Church for 30 years. Fern is survived by her loving daughters, Nan Hoffenkamp, of Adrian, and ?Sallie? (Ken) Hicks, of Marysville WA., She also leaves behind 4 granddaughters, Ruth (Randy) Gunnink, Sioux Falls, Dolly (Rich) Bruns, Ceta (Mark) Zebe both of Adrian, and Tasha Enninga Thomas, Las Vegas NV, 5 Grandsons, Todd (Jenny) Enninga and Troy (Cathy) Enninga, both of Las Vegas, Jim (Kim) and Dan (Megan) Hicks of WA and Greg (Heather) Hicks of Ankeny IA, 34 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren She also leaves 6 nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband Roscoe, on January 26, 1984, her parents, two sisters, Ruth Wicks and Bernice Skinner. Her only brother Quinten J. Miller and Son-in-Law, Marvin Hoffenkamp both passed, in 2007.
