FLORENCE E. SANDSTEDE, age 83, of Hills, formerly of Steen, died Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills. She was born February 26, 1923 in Beaver Creek Township, Rock County, to Carl and Myrtle (Drake) Taubert. She graduated from Beaver Creek High School in 1941. Florence was united in marriage to Melvin G. Sandstede on May 21, 1943. Florence worked at the Las Vegas Laundry while Melvin was in the U.S. Air Corps stationed in Las Vegas, Nevada. They moved back to Rock County where Florence worked for twelve years as a cook at the Tuff Home in Hills, seventeen years as a Tupperware dealer, and nineteen years as an Avon representative. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Luverne and she was also a member of the Red Hats at the Tuff Home. She enjoyed bird watching, cooking, and spending time with her family. Florence is survived by four sons and their spouses, James and Gerry Sandstede, Luverne; Larry and Nancy Sandstede, San Diego, CA; Merlyn Sandstede, Hills; Kevin Sandstede, Sioux Falls; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren; sister, Alice Bruggeman, Luverne. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin in 1999, brother, and a grandson Danny Sandstede. Blessed Be Her Memory.
