Obituary

FLOYD FATH, age 87, of Sartell, formerly of Wilmont, died Friday, August 20, 2010, at the Hennepin County Medical Center, in Minneapolis. He was born June 11, 1923, in Lismore, to Jake and Mary (VonHoltum) Fath. Floyd attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School. He served his country in the United States Army, during WWII, at Shemya on the Alutian Islands Alaska. Floyd married Dolores Rodrigue on September 1, 1962, at St. Kilian. The couple purchased the family farm north of Wilmont, and operated the farm until their retirement in 1986. In 1991, they moved to Wilmont. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, in Wilmont; the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Wilmont VFW. He spent his life farming and in retirement enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Floyd is survived by his two daughters, Noella (Brian) Fath-Cutter, Coon Rapids; and Margot (Todd) Lorsung, Sartell; two grandsons, Ethan & Graham Lorsung; three sisters, Bea Hoffman, Wilmont; Rosemary (Quentin) Hoffman, Wilmont; and Joan (Marvin) Winkel, Alexandria; and a sister-in-law, Min Fath, Windom. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolores, on December 3, 2007; and a brother, Al Fath.
