FRANCES LUCILLE GETMAN, age 91, of Luverne, died Monday, August 30, 2010, at the Sanford Hospital in Luverne. She was born December 22, 1918, in Manning, IA, to Herman and Margaret Marie (Schrum) Oeser. She attended rural school in Lincoln Township, Dist.#3; and graduated from Capital City Commercial College, in Des Moines, IA, in 1936. Lucille married Kenneth Getman on October 15, 1941, in Rock Rapids, IA. After their marriage, the couple lived in Rock Rapids. In 1945, they moved to Luverne. Lucille worked for Ben Vander Kooi as a legal secretary. Lucille also worked as a secretary for Wally Estenson. She later worked at Northwestern Bank in Luverne. She retired in 1983. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Luverne; the Ladies Aid; PEO; the Order of the Eastern Star; AARP; the Luverne American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; and the Luverne Senior Citizens. Lucille is survived by her two sons, Tim (Mary) Getman, Cannon Falls; and Dan (Sheryl) Getman, Kalispell, MT; daughter-in-law, Pricilla Dean, Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; Joshua Getman, Micah Getman, Mathias Getman, Cresent (Chris) Isham, Thaddeus (Heidi) Getman, Andrea (Chad Knowlton) Getman, Erin (Jason) Slatten & Taiya Getman; eight great grandchildren, Lydia, Jalen, Drew, Maya, Elijah, Quinn, Rowan & Madeleine; and a sister, Joyce Line, San Leandro, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth, in 1974; two sons, John, in 1998 & Peter in 2007; and two brothers, Allen & Harold Oeser.
