IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frieda Sophia
Harms
May 13, 1909 – February 29, 2008
FRIEDA SOPHIA HARMS, age 98, of Worthington, died Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. She was born on May 13, 1909, to parents, Thomas and Margaret (Eihausen) Harms, in Minneapolis, KS. As a child the family moved from Kansas to Canada. Then the family moved to Northern Minnesota where Frieda graduated from Goodridge High School. After graduation the family moved to southwest Minnesota. Frieda took a job with Lyle Brandt, a local farmer in Little Rock Township, southwest of Rushmore. She did housekeeping and assisted Lyle with the farming. In later years, Lyle passed away and Frieda inherited the farm and purchased an additional 80 acres. Frieda continued to farm, cared for a variety of animals and had a large vegetable garden. In 2002, Freida had a stroke and had to move to Southshore Care Center. She was there for about a year and then she was able to go back to the farm. Frieda eventually had to move back to a care center and was moved into Crossroads. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Violet Harms, Adrian; nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and five sisters and one infant sister.
