GARY DEAN "CHOPS" JEPSON, age 55, of Luverne, died Thursday, September 19, 2013, at his home. He was born March 5, 1958, in Luverne, to Junior and Mildred "Millie" (Peterson) Jepson. He graduated from Luverne High School in 1976.
Chops lived in Luverne all of his life. He worked at various places including, the Blue Mound Inn, and Smith Furniture in Luverne. Most recently, he worked for fifteen years as a machinist at Luverne Truck Equipment in Brandon, SD.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. Chops was an avid bowler. He even bowled a perfect 300 game. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and named his dog Ben after their quarterback. Chops was a skilled poker player and played in several tournaments advancing to Regional's and even Nationals in Reno & Las Vegas, NV.
Chops is survived by his mother, Millie (Jepson) Moen, Luverne; three siblings, Cheryl (Allan) Kruse, Sioux Falls, SD; Ron Jepson, Luverne; and Pam (Pat "Cookie") Ruppert, Magnolia; two nephews, Brian (Carrie) Vanden Bussche, & their children, Devon & Zane; and Josh Markl; three nieces, Lisa (Reed) Sayler, & their child, Noah; Cassie (Jason) Kasparek, & their children, Dylan & Jason; and Nicole (Corey) Van Westen, & their children, Carter, Issy, Abby & Jocelyn; and friend, Pat Weerheim, Luverne.
He was preceded in death by his father, Junior.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, in Luverne, officiated by Rev. Josh Enderson. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
