GAYLE M. BEERS, age 84, of Luverne, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne. She was born September 30, 1933, in Luverne, to Jess Sr. and Amelia (Hovland) Frakes. She graduated from Luverne High School in 1951. She worked as a punch key operator at Tri-State Insurance.

Gayle married Roger W. Beers on August 31, 1952, in Luverne. After Roger returned from the service, the couple farmed southwest of Luverne. Gayle worked at the Rock County Star-Herald newspaper for 20 years as typesetter. In January of 2012 she and Roger moved to Luverne. Gayle became a resident of the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne in May of 2014.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne, a 4-H Dog Leader and also a member of the Worthington Kennel Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, and raising and showing Australian Cattle Dogs. She also enjoyed following the Minnesota professional sports teams especially the Twins and Vikings.

Gayle is survived by her son, Brad (Jane) Beers, Luverne; two grandchildren, Amber (Corey) Rost, Madison, South Dakota, and Ryleigh Beers, Luverne; two great-grandchildren, Shayla Rost and Raena Rost; two stepgrandchildren, Jason Thiesse and Amanda Revier; a daughter-in-law, Gina Beers, Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters-in-law, Eva Lou Aanenson, Minnetonka; and Esther Frakes, Luverne; and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger on September 5, 2016; a son, Scott Beers in 2001; and two brothers, Dallis and Jess Jr. "Skippy" Frakes.

A time of fellowship will be from noon to 1 pm Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. A memorial service will be 1 pm Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Stephen Hilding. A private committal of cremains will be at a later date.
