GENEVA BRINKHOUS, age 92, of Worthington, formerly of Rushmore, died, Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. She was born April 24, 1918 in rural Adrian to parents Joseph and Mary (Broesder) Busman. She attended rural school in Nobles County. After her schooling she moved to Worthington and worked as a housekeeper for a doctor's family. Geneva was united in marriage to Carl Brinkhous on February 25, 1937 in Rushmore, MN. They lived in rural Rushmore and were engaged in farming. They moved to Rushmore in 1977 where they made their home. Carl passed away in 1986 and she remained in Rushmore until 2003 when she became a resident of South Shore Care Center in Worthington. In 2008 she became a resident of Crossroads Care Center. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rushmore and also the Rushmore Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing cards, making crafts and loved roses. She also enjoyed gardening, baking and keeping a very clean house. Geneva is survived by her sons, Ervin Brinkhous, Chaska, MN; and Daryl (Lila) Brinkhous, Rushmore, MN; five grandchildren, Laura, Susan, Robin, Brenda and Lon; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and four step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Sam Busman, Dick Busman and Bert Busman, two sisters, Rena Houtcooper and Jenny Roberts.
