GEORGE H. HINRICHS, age 73, of rural Ellsworth, died Saturday, May 27, 2006, at the Sioux Valley Luverne Hospital. He was born February 27, 1933, in Lyon County, IA, to Henry and Agnes (Kruse) Hinrichs. He attended country school in rural Lyon County, IA. George married Leona Wolthuizen on August 16, 1955, in Sheldon, IA. After their marriage, the couple lived in Little Rock, IA, where George worked at Bennie?s 66 Service Station; and also farmed with his father. The family later moved to rural Ellsworth where they farmed. They also ran a dairy operation until 1998. George farmed and drove truck. He was a member of the Southwest Trail Riders Association; the Ellsworth Saddle Club; and was an Adult 4-H Leader. George enjoyed raising horses and attending horse sales. He loved watching his children & grandchildren participate in horse shows & team roping. George is survived by his mother, Agnes Hinrichs, Little Rock, IA; four children and their spouses, Donna & Mark Wibben, Ellsworth; Janice & Jeff Weidert, Lismore; Roger & Brenda Hinrichs, Little Rock, IA; and Steve & Bridget Hinrichs, Adrian; eleven grandchildren, Chrissy (Adam) Skogsberg, Valerie and Kayla Wibben, Nicholas, Justin and Brandon Weidert, Joseph Harskamp, Dylan and Morgan Hinrichs, and Paige and Tanner Hinrichs; a great grandchild, Carter Skogsberg; and two sisters, Tillie (Arnie) Voss, Sibley, IA; and Sylvia (Bob) Rolfes, Sibley, IA. He was preceded in death by his father; wife, Leona, on July 13, 1994; and a twin infant brother. Blessed Be His Memory.
