GEORGE VERNON LUTTERMAN, age 85, of Fulda, formerly of Wilmont, died Sunday, March 06, 2011, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda. He was born September 3, 1925, on the family farm north of Wilmont, to Tenges and Emma (Kruger) Lutterman. He attended country school near Wilmont. George married Genevieve Julius on March 12, 1949, at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church Parsonage south of Rushmore. After their marriage, the couple farmed east of Wilmont. In 2008, they moved to the Maplelawn Nursing Home in Fulda. He was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in, Wilmont, where he served as Elder & Deacon; the Prairie Reapers; the Wilmont Farmers Elevator Board; the Bloom Township Board; and the Reading Public School Board. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, attending farm sales and restoring antique John Deere gas engines and tractors. George is survived by his wife, Gen Lutterman, Fulda; five children, Dennis Lutterman, Gayville, SD; Marsha (Wayne) Van Roekel, Sanborn, IA; Judy (John) Kuhl, Fulda; Jeff (Cindy) Lutterman, Fulda; and Karen (Steve) Banken, Lakeland Shores; daughter-in-law, Jill Lutterman, Worthington; nine grandchildren, Jenny (Derrick) Altena, Emily Van Roekel, Hayley Lutterman, Tom Kuhl, Rob Kuhl, Ben Lutterman, Angie Lutterman, Phillip Banken & Mitchell Banken; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Lawrence (Vonnie) Lutterman, Sheldon, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Marlan, in 2007; an infant daughter, Jane, in 1958; brother, Hank; and three sisters, Mattie Uken, Martha Sibson & Luella Schipper. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Funeral will be 10:30 am Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, in Wilmont, officiated by Rev. Keith Galagher.
