Obituary

GEORGE FRANK MALGET, age 87, of Luverne, died Thursday, January 10, 2008, at the Royal C. Johnson Veterans Hospital, in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born February 15, 1920, in Adrian, to William and Katherine (Erpelding) Malget. George attended St. Adrian Catholic School. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during WWII in the European Theater. George married Lucille Poppen on January 23, 1947, at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington. They were blessed with four children, Linda, Randall, Catherine & Virginia. George & Lucille lived most of their sixty one years of marriage in Worthington. George worked as a bricklayer. His craftsmanship can be seen in schools, churches and government buildings in the area, including the Luverne High School. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington; St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne; the Worthington VFW; and the Bricklayers Union. He enjoyed fishing, fixing things and especially visiting with family & friends. George is survived by his wife, Lucille Malget, Luverne; two daughters, Catherine (Lynn) Queensland, Spring Valley; and Virginia Hagen, LeRoy; two grandsons, James (Amie) Queensland, Waukegan, IL; and Michael (Liz Jones) Queensland, Madison, WI; brother, Adrian (Dorothy) Malget, Oelwein, IA; and two sisters, Alvina Ruppert, Greeley, CO; and Joan Malget, Georgetown, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Malget, in 1960; infant son, Randall, in 1952; two brothers, Nick & Roman Malget; and two sisters, Ann Mousel & Viola Ruppert.
