GEORGIA FERGUSON, age 81, of Luverne, died Friday March 13, 2009, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. She was born July 27, 1927, in Luverne, to George and Bessie (Dybedock) Soutar. She graduated from Luverne High School in 1945. She worked for Nelson?s Department Store while she was in high school. Georgia was united in marriage to Hugh Ferguson, on July 14, 1946, in Luverne. After their marriage they lived in Luverne where Georgia continued to work for Nelson?s Department Store. Because of Hughs career the family lived in many locations including; Huntington, IN; Warsaw, IN; Chicago, IL area; Ft. Wayne, IN; Enfield, CT. They moved back to Luverne in 1984. She was a member of the American Reformed Church, in Luverne and a past member of the Eastern Star. Georgia volunteered at the Luverne Senior Center and occasionally would help at the Minnesota Veterans Nursing Home in Luverne. She loved to visit with people and also enjoyed traveling, especially their trips to England and Scotland. She is survived by her two children, Susan Bynum, Luverne; Richard (Vicki) Ferguson, Mint Hill, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hugh in 1994, brother Robert ?Bud? Soutar, sister, Maxine Hodges.
