Obituary

GERALDINE "GERRY" LOU ROOS, age 84, of Rushmore, died Friday, May 8, 2015, at South Shore Care Center in Worthington. She was born August 7, 1930, in Ceylon, MN, to Geyrl and Lucille (Lenz) Gardner. Gerry graduated from Worthington High School; and later from Mankato State University with a Teaching Degree.
Gerry married Donald Roos on June 6, 1951 at the First United Methodist Church in Worthington. After Donald was discharged from the service they made their home south east of Rushmore and were engaged in farming until 1990 when they retired. Gerry was also a school teacher. She taught kindergarten and third grade in Rushmore before teaching second grade in Worthington.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rushmore.
Gerry is  survived by her two children, Sue Spector, Apple Valley, MN; and Keith (Mona) Roos, Rock Well City, IA; four grandchildren, Josh Spector, Anna Spector, Tom (Alicia) Roos and Karen Roos, two great grandchildren, Foster and Brayden Roos; and a brother, David (Sylvia) Gardner, The Villages, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Donald, on April 9, 2013.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Rushmore, officiated by Rev. Dan Dettman. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore.
Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, is in charge of arrangements.
