GERTRUDE M. LITTLE, age 94, of Worthington, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage, in Worthington. She was born May 13, 1914, in Ransom Township, MN, to Julius and Marie (Marquardt) Fenske. Gertrude graduated from Bigelow High School in 1932. She was the only graduate in a class of one. Gertrude married Leslie Leemkuil on May 6, 1934, in Sanborn, IA. To this union one son, Lane, was born. Gertrude worked as a waitress. The couple later divorced. Gertrude married Irvin Little on February 3, 1949, in Ft. Dodge, IA. After their marriage, the couple lived in Worthington. In 1957, they moved to California. They moved to Lake Shetek, MN, in 1962. In 1968, they moved back to Worthington where Gertrude, along with her sister, Dolores, owned & operated an upholstery shop called The Little Work Shop. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, in Worthington, where she was a member of the Alter Guild, Choir & did linens. She enjoyed painting pictures, crafts & crocheting. Gertrude is survived by her two grandchildren, Dirk & Brett Leemkuil; one great grandchild; brother, Willis (Clare Ann) Fenske, Worthington; sister, Dolores Meier, Worthington; two step children, Tanya (Ron) Rudkin, Florida; and Dudley Little, Reno, NV; twelve step grandchildren; and many step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Irvin Little, in 1982; son, Lane Leemkuil, in 1984; two brothers, Marvin & Kenneth Fenske; a sister, Lorraine Childers; and a step daughter, Lexie Little.
