GLADYS MANN, age 86, of Luverne, died Sunday, December 18, 2011, at the Bethany Lutheran Home in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born July 8, 1925, in Lake Benton, to Arthur and Nellie (Raine) Salzman. Gladys graduated from Lake Benton High School in 1942; and attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis. She was baptized & confirmed on September 8, 1946, at St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne.
Gladys married George Mann on August 6, 1944, in Lake Benton. After their marriage, they made their home on the Mann family farm until 1999, when they moved to Luverne. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne; the church circle; the Maplewood Cemetery Auxiliary; and the Neighborhood Club. She enjoyed quilting.
Gladys is survived by her six children, Gary (Marlene) Mann, Luverne; Gail Goembel, Edina; Judy (Dave) Gort, Willmar; Jerold (Pat) Mann, Luverne; Joyce (Tom) Soderholm, Worthington; and JoAnne (Wayne) Landhuis, Edgerton; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; brother, Gene (Lorraine) Salzman, Fairbanks, AK; and a sister, Faye Meyer, Lake Benton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, on September 21, 2008; infant son, Gregg William Mann; infant granddaughter, Melissa Mann; and a sister, Ione Anderson.
A time of fellowship will be Wednesday January 4, 2012 from 4-8 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Memorial Service will be Thursday, January 5, 2012, at 1:30 pm at St. John Lutheran Church, in Luverne, officiated by Rev. Gary Klatt. A private burial of cremains will be at the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
