Obituary

GLADYS SCHWARTZ, age 84, of Ellsworth, died Thursday, October 5, 2006, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home, in Ellsworth. She was born January 6, 1922, in Kanaranzi Township, rural Ellsworth, to Henry L. and Amelia (Gust) Schwartz. Gladys attended country school in rural Ellsworth and later graduated from Ellsworth High School. Gladys lived in the Ellsworth area all of her life where she farmed on the family farm with her brother. She retired and moved into Ellsworth in 1968. Gladys became a resident of the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in July of 2003. She was a member of the Ebenezer State Line Church, Southwest of Ellsworth, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the Ladies Aid. Gladys became a member of the Zion Presbyterian Church, in Ellsworth, when the State Line Church closed in 2002. She was also a member of the Ellsworth Senior Citizens. She was an avid gardener and loved her cats. Gladys is survived by her sister-in-law, Hazel Boyenga, Luverne; special friends, Lonnie & Diane Boltjes, Ellsworth; and Janyce Baustian, Hardwick; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Adeline Schwartz; and two brothers, Walter & Ralph Schwartz. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Monday at Zion Presbyterian Church, in Ellsworth; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Tuesday at the Zion Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. William Kleymann. Burial will be at the Ebenezer State Line Cemetery. Dingmann Funeral Home, in Luverne, is in charge of arrangements. A tree will be planted in memory of Gladys Schwartz, by Hospice of Sioux Valley Luverne Hospital.
