GLADYS S. STEINHOFF, age 91, of Adrian, died peacefully in Petaluma, CA, Thursday, September 2, 2010. Beloved wife, for 62 years, to the late Clarence "Clancy" Steinhoff. Loving mother of Les (Linda) Steinhoff and Linda (Curt) Holmes. Adored grandmother of Stacy (Brendan) Duesterhaus, Stephen Steinhoff and Jake Holmes. Dear sister of Charles (Dorothy) Sherrer and Lorraine (Roy) Ottoboni. Gladys was born, raised and educated in and around Cedar Rapids, Iowa and received her degree from Mount Mercy College. She came to San Francisco in 1942 where she met Clancy. They were married in 1948 on the Presidio of San Francisco where he was stationed. Together they founded and operated Clancy's Christmas Trees in San Francisco for nearly 50 years. The business continues today. Gladys was devoted to her family and loved her children and grandchildren very much. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Monday, with parish prayers at 3:30, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. Burial will be at 4 pm Monday at St. Adrian Catholic Cemetery.
