GLADYS JOYCE ANDERSON, age 82, of Hardwick, died Saturday, November 10, 2012, at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills. She was born April 14, 1930, in Dundee, to Herman and Dorthia (Deutchmann) Vosberg. She attended country school in rural Dundee.
Gladys married Clifford Anderson on October 21, 1947, at the American Lutheran Church in Worthington. After their marriage, the couple farmed northeast of Kenneth for fifteen years, Mitchell, SD for one year and then settling on a farm northeast of Hardwick for 38 years. In 2002, they bought a home in Hardwick, where they resided until 2011. In June of 2011, Gladys became a resident of Tuff Memorial Home where she was crowned Queen in 2012.
Besides being a wonderful mother and housewife, Gladys enjoyed working out of the home. She worked for Sathers of Hardwick, MN, AR Woods and Hardees all of Luverne. But she found her true joy, when she began working for Development Achievement Center, DAC now known as Rock County Opportunity, RCO.
At DAC, Gladys helped and supported the residents where they worked and where they lived at Resident Advantage Incorporated, RAI. Gladys worked for more than twelve years with the physical and mentally challenged before retiring at the age of 71.
She was a former member of the Kenneth Lutheran Church where she had taught Sunday School, served as KLCW President and also served suppers. Gladys was a current member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne; and the GLCW. She enjoyed her bowling leagues, cooking, baking, helping the physical challenged and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gladys is survived by her husband, Clifford Anderson, Hills; four children, Bernice Anderson, Castle Rock, CO; Lyle (Linda) Anderson, Luverne; Becky (Lowell) Siekmann, Marshall; and Randy (Jill) Anderson, Harrisburg, SD; daughter-in-law, Shirley Anderson, Steen; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; four sisters, Lucille Pruess, Fulda; Mildred Oldham, Worthington; Violet Whitlow, South Bend, IN; and June (Rick) Winters, Worthington; and a brother, James (Jean) Vosberg, Loveland, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry, on May 24, 1993; brother, Ray Vosberg and a sister, Viola Kilker.
