Grace H. Eernisse, age 98, of Sheboygan, went home to her Lord and Savior peacefully on Wednesday evening, January 14, 2015 at her residence. She was born March 10, 1916 in Leota, MN to Bert and Gertie (Broekhuis) Van Dyk.
On March 3, 1937 Grace and Elmer Eernisse were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1992 after which Grace moved to Sheboygan.
Grace was currently a faithful member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church who loved serving her Lord. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed gardening, decorating her home, canning and sewing.
She is survived by her children, Bev (Bob) Mulder of Sheboygan, Judith Gannon of Yucca Valley, CA, Gary (Boni) Eernisse of Colstrip MT, Jane Windmiller of Sheboygan, and Pam (Norman) Byers of Temecula, CA; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; her brother, John (Wilma) Van Dyk of Enumclaw, WA; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters; two brothers; and two sons-in-law, Christopher Gannon and Joe Windmiller.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Calvin Christian Reformed Church. Rev. Rick Boomsma, Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
A visitation will continue from 2-4 pm Sunday, January 25, 2015, at the Bethel Reformed Church in Leota. A private burial will take place at the Leota Community Cemetery.
The Leota Burial Association and the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Adrian, are in charge of arrangements.
