IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Grace H.

July 12, 1925 – November 23, 2010
GRACE H. LANDHUIS, was born on July 12, 1925 to John and Henrietta ?Achterhoff? Schoolmeester near Edgerton. Grace married Nelson Landhuis in 1945. The couple began farming one mile south of Leota where they farmed for 31 years until moving to Leota where they retired. They were married for 59 years until Nelson?s passing in 2003. Grace was a long time member of the Bethel Reformed Church in Leota. She enjoyed attending her Ladies Aide group, gardening, reading, playing cards, and watching baseball. People enjoyed her company as she was known for her wonderful sense of humor. The definition of ?Grace? in the Bible is ?unmerited favor?. Grace was aptly named. Throughout her life, she was a devout caregiver. Always loving and loyal. She unselfishly gave of her time and life to friends and family. Even though she was only able to complete eight years of school due to caring for her parents and siblings at a young age, Grace was awarded a honorary High School Diploma by St. Mary?s High School in Colorado Springs, CO in 2006 at the age of 81. Grace is lovingly remembered by her children, Charlotte (Mike) Clark, Sioux Falls, SD; LeRoy Landhuis, Colorado Springs, CO; Mary (Ron) Van Dyke, Colorado Springs, CO; and Lisa Landhuis, Edgerton; three granddaughters, Kari Clark, Harrisberg, SD; Kristi (Marc) Piatkowski, Long Beach, CA; and Diane (Mark) Brockberg, Edgerton; a great grandchild, Kaden Brockberg; brother, Jerold (Sophie) Schoolmeester; sister, Anna Jean Beckering; and a sister-in-law, Wilamene Schoolmeester. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Clarence Schoolmeester; and a brother-in-law, Rich Beckering. *Memorials may be designated to the Hope Haven Home, in Edgerton, MN. In honor of Lisa, and in memory of Grace.
