GRACE MAMMEN, age 91, of Ellsworth, died Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. She was born September 17, 1921, in Adrian, to Oney and Bertha (Klooster) Hector. She attended country school near Adrian.
Grace married Arnold Mammen on June 21, 1941, in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Westside Township. Arnold died on November 13, 1982. Grace retired and moved to Ellsworth in 1984.
She was a member of Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth; and the Ladies Circle. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.
Grace is survived by four children, Marlis (Don) Einkopf, Windom; Marlyn (Corrine) Mammen, Worthington; Betty (special friend, Doug Wolfe) Mammen, Windom; and Carol (Steve) Neyens, Rushmore; daughter-in-law, Darnelle Mammen, New Ulm; eight grandchildren, Jon (Monica) Mammen, Chad (Meredith) Mammen, Eric (fiancée, Jenny) Mammen, Molly (Preston) Heinz, Jason Neyens, Susan (Jared) Peterson, Jesse (Dessie) Neyens & Lindsey Neyens; six, great grandchildren, Grace, Sam, Henry, Zack, Kaylee & Amy; and a sister, Marion Hector, Ellsworth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arnold; son, Harlan, in 2005; and two brothers, Ben & Richard Hector.
Visitation will be from 5-7:30pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral will be 11 am Saturday at the Zion Presbyterian Church, in Ellsworth, officiated by Rev. Calvin Hsu. Burial will be in the Grand Prairie Cemetery in Ellsworth.
