GRACE RINSTENA BRUNS, age 88, of Worthington, died Monday, November 14, 2022, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born January 14, 1934, in Worthington, to George and Grace (Meester) Meyeraan. She attended Worthington Public Schools; and worked at Campbell's Soup Co. Grace married Robert W. Bruns on August 27, 1955. After their marriage, the couple lived in Worthington before moving to Mankato, Sioux Falls, Brewster, Luverne, Fulda and back to Worthington in 1976. Grace & Robert owned and operated Bruns Heating & Cooling. They later purchased Bruns Recreation which they made into a dance hall. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington. She enjoyed baking, embroidery, cards, puzzles and caring for her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Grace is survived by her three children, Connie (James) Johnson, Reading; Bonnie (Randy) Junker, Worthington; and Robert (Mentra) Bruns, Sioux Falls, SD; fifteen grandchildren, Noah (Nikki) Johnson, Eric Johnson, Erin Johnson, Reva Johnson, Adrian Schwaller, Jackie Mangel, Michaela Johnson, Lori (James) Krause, Karen (Rob) Feekes, Nathan (Desi) Junker, Zane Bruns, Jared (Ashley) Bruns, Tracy Bruns, Piper (Darin) Jaqua and Darby (friend, Evan) Bruns; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 1982; grandchild, Dalton Bruns; great-grandchild, Gracelyn Kay; six brothers, Ray, Harm, Aike, Jack, Jim and George; and four sisters, Susie, Katherine, Josephine and Jeannie.
Visitation will be from 4-7pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral will be 1 pm Friday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Galen Smith. Burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
