GRACE E. MILLER, age 89, of Luverne, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at the Mary Jane Brown Home, in Luverne. She was born September 28, 1917, in Rock County, MN, to Arthur and Sylvia (Ackley) Goembel. She attended District #6 country school in rural Rock County; and one year at Magnolia High School. Grace moved to Rock Island, IL and worked there in the defense plant during WWII. Later, she was manager of Gold Bond Stamp Company. She moved to Santa Monica, CA and became manager of the Blue Chip Stamp Company Redemption Center. In 1969, Grace moved to Billings, MT where she was a hostess & cashier at the Holiday Inn until retiring and moving back to Luverne in 1997. She attended the United Methodist Church, in Luverne, where she volunteered many hours. She also delivered Meals on Wheels. Grace is survived by her two sisters, Marion Swenson, Luverne; and Ruth (Lionel) Wetzel, Carl Junction, MO; sister-in-law, Helen Goembel, Harlingen, TX; numerous nieces & nephews; and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Helen; two brothers, Donald & Russell Goembel; and a sister, Mildred McKay; sister-in-law, Frances Goembel; brothers-in-law, Wilfred Swenson and Jack McKay.
