GREG M. LENZ, age 77, of Ellsworth, died, Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth under hospice care. He was born December 7, 1932 in Grand Prairie Township, Nobles County, MN; to parents Sylvester and Veronica (Recker) Lenz. He graduated from St. Mary?s Catholic School in Ellsworth in 1950. He worked for Wagner Produce in Ellsworth in 1952 and 1953. Greg served his nation in the United States Army from May of 1953 until May of 1955 in Korea during the Korean Conflict and received an honorable discharge. After returning from the service he worked for the Ellsworth Elevator. He farmed in the Ellsworth area for most of his life. He was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Ellsworth and the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins and played legion baseball in his youth. He loved farming, fishing, bowling, telling jokes and playing cards. He especially enjoyed following his nieces and nephews playing soccer, baseball and basketball and enjoyed being with his family. Greg is survived by his sister, Marlene (Harold) Forsch, Sioux Falls, SD; nephews, Gary (Stacy) Forsch, Baltic, SD; Arlen (Margaret) Forsch, Dodgeville, WI; niece, Carol (Dave) DeNoble, Rock Rapids, IA; great nieces and nephews, Taylor and Morgan Forsch; Laura, Dale and Liz Forsch; Austin and Andrew DeNoble and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles and many cousins.
