HARLEY D. AILTS, age 73, of Luverne, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born February 24, 1937, in Adrian, to George and Katie (Reiter) Ailts. He graduated from Adrian High School in 1956; and later attended vocational school in St. Louis, MO, for mechanics. Harley married Pauline Ohling on November 28, 1958, at the Bethel Reformed Church in rural Ellsworth. The first year of their marriage, the couple lived at Anomosa, IA, where Harley worked as a mechanic. In 1959, they moved to Ellsworth where Harley worked as a mechanic at Domeyer Implement. He later worked at K & F Motors in Rock Rapids, IA. In 1962, the family moved to Luverne where Harley began working at IBP and was employed there for the next thirty seven years. After his retirement, he drove school bus for the Luverne School District from 1998 until the day of his stroke. He was a fifty year member of the American Reformed Church in Luverne. He enjoyed traveling, camping, woodworking, feeding & watching birds and especially enjoyed his family and his grandchildren & their activities. Harley is survived by his wife, Pauline Ailts of 51 ? years, Luverne; son, Kevin (Crystal) Ailts, Luverne; two daughters, Kandace (Mike) Rust, Magnolia; and Karla (fianc?e, Tom Owen) Winnebago; five grandchildren, Sarah Ailts (fianc?e, Christopher Nuffer), Katie Ailts, Lindsay Rust (fianc?e, Ryan Lonneman), Erika Rust & Lexi Rust; extended family, Kathie & RJ Linder, Bob & Karrie Owen & their son, Gavin Owen; brother, David Ailts, Portage, IN (special friend, Elsie St. Pierre); nieces, Cathy (John) Patterson, Nancy (Bruce) Kannery & Diane (Chuck) Nixon; and other family & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Verna & brother-in-law, Sonny Kunkel; and a sister-in-law, Delores Ailts.
