HAROLD FORSBERG, age 91, of Hardwick, died Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage. He was born April 23, 1925, in Harrington, NE, to Emil and Gertrude (Peterson) Forsberg. He attended school in Laurel, NE. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII as a Dental Laboratory Technician.
Harold married Eline Naef on January 31, 1950, in Wausau, WI. The couple farmed east of Hardwick for forty six years before retiring in 1996. After they retired, they built a new home on an acreage south of the farm place. Harold enjoyed doing carpentry work on the side. Harold loved farming and feeding cattle. He raised kosher meat for IBP in Luverne.
Harold is survived by his wife, Eline Forsberg, Hardwick; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney & Aleta Forsberg, Coeur d' Alene, ID; Duane & Linda Forsberg, White Salmon, WA; and Keith & Sherry Forsberg, Luverne; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette & Dean Ricter, Rochester, MN; and Joyce & Kevin Jacobson, Wannamingo, MN; daughter-in-law, Dianne Forsberg, Almira, WA; twelve grandchildren, Tela (David) Richardson, Lance Forsberg, Kimberly Forsberg, Zachary Forsberg, Zoe Forsberg, Laureen (Brent) Robertson, Rachel Forsberg, Bryce (Starla) Ricter, Andrea (Chad) Ruttan, Kent Ricter, Brent (Tara) Jacobson and Traci Morris; eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Myrtle Forsberg, Columbus, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ken Forsberg in 2010; great grandson, Jacob Morris; and two brothers, Melvin & David Forsberg.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 am Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. Funeral will be 11 am Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. Burial with military honors provided by the Hardwick American Legion will be at the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the donor's choice of charity.
