HARRIET HELEN JANSSEN, age 76, of Worthington, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at her daughter Jody?s home in Fairmont. She was born November 27, 1931, on the family farm near Sibley, IA, to Harry and Josie (Elgersma) Buysman. Harriet received her early education in country school. She later graduated from Sibley High School in 1950. Harriet married John A. Janssen on March 2, 1954. She worked at Wolff?s Department Store; and later at J.C. Penney Company for twenty five years before retiring in 1993. She was a member of the American Reformed Church, in Worthington. Harriet enjoyed flower gardening and loved having coffee with friends. She especially loved spending time with her family. Harriet is survived by her three children, Merlyn (Julie) Janssen, Bemidji; Jolene (Scott) Calvin, Worthington; and Jody (Greg) Mitchell, Fairmont; eight grandchildren, Arlyn (Joanne) Janssen, Aaron (Marit) Janssen, Joel (fianc?e, Kristin Turbes) Janssen, Meghan Calvin, Kale Calvin, Allison Mitchell, Benjamin Mitchell & Jacob Mitchell; a great grandchild, Tyler Elsner-Calvin; and two brothers, Donald (Marlys) Buysman, Sibley, IA; and Lester Buysman, Heron Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John, on August 11, 2003; a brother, Clarence Buysman; and a sister, Jeanette Tamminga. Blessed Be Her Memory.
