HARRIET VIANNA GONNERMAN, age 85, of Luverne, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born November 26, 1928, in Dunlap, IA, to Frank and Alberta (Smith) Martin. Harriet was baptized on April 13, 1929; and Confirmed on June 20, 1948. She graduated from Dunlap High School.
Harriet married LeRoy Gonnerman on November 26, 1947, at St. John Lutheran Parsonage in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple lived in Luverne. Harriet worked at various places in Luverne including, the café downtown, A & W Drive Inn, the West End Truck Stop, the Mary Jane Brown Home and cleaned houses for Warren Schoon and Don Lippi.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne; and the Ladies Circle. She had also been a Boy Scout Den Leader years ago. Harriet enjoyed shopping, word search puzzles and playing with her grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Harriet is survived by her six children, Terry (Dianne) Gonermann, Luverne; David Gonnerman, Brandon, SD; Leigh Ann (Dale) Remme, Luverne; Donald Gonnerman, Luverne; Ronald (Mary Lou) Gonnerman, Luverne; and Craig (Becky) Gonnerman, Luverne; eighteen grandchildren, Kellie, Kari, Kyle, Trisha, Jake, Paula, Missy, Cody, Erika, Mike, Amy, Kennedy, Coy, Jason, Carina, Brock, Brandt & Tyler; twenty five great grandchildren, Logan, Bailey, Noah, Dylan, Blaycie, Emersyn, Brody, Rylin, Liam, Amelia, Paige, Will, Avery, Houston, Tenly, Regan, Caden, Livia, Trey, Mason, Mateya, Morgan, Levi, Nick & Matthew; sister, Claudine (Walt) Connors, Blue Springs, MO; and a special friend, Kris Weidert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy, on September 15, 2009; an infant son, Michael James, in 1967; two brothers, Bob & George Martin; two sisters, Mary Adkins & Juanita Clay; and a step sister, Betty Adams.
