HARRIET G. SCHOLTEN, age 82, of Worthington, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Sanford Regional Hospital in Worthington. She was born on February 20, 1926 in Matlock, IA to parents, Anthony and Kate (Mouw) Scholten. Harriet attended Pipestone County School. After graduating, she moved to rural Worthington and worked at Worthmore which later became Campbell Soup Company; where she worked for forty-three years. During this time, Harriet moved to town to also care for her mother. After retiring, Harriet moved to the Atrium and cared for her sister, Pearl and her nephew, Bruce. In 1992, she moved into Sunshine Apartments. Harriet was a member of the American Reformed Church. She enjoyed listening to Christian music, going out to eat with friends, playing cards and bingo. She also loved collecting stuffed animals and porcelain dolls. Most of all, Harriet enjoyed spending time with and taking care of Bruce. Harriet is survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and special friends, Mary Ellen, Leatha, June, Jean and Marcia. She is preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Caroline, Pearl, Cornelia and Pauline and five brothers, John, Morris, Anthony, Jr., William and Paul.
