Obituary

HARRIET L. WINTER, age 98, of Worthington, died Friday, January 12, 2018, at Crossroads Care in Worthington. She was born November 17, 1919, in Ocheyedan, IA, to Frank and Bessie (Hornstine) Stanton. She attended country school.

Harriet married Harold "Doc" Winter on September 9, 1939, in Worthington. After their marriage, the couple lived in Org, MN before moving to Worthington. Harriet was a homemaker and worked at Campbell's Soup Co. in Worthington for over twenty seven years.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington; and the WCCW. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, sitting on the porch watching birds, playing BINGO, wintering in Alamo, TX, and hemmin pants.

Harriet is survived by her son, Gary (friend, Jean Von Heyne) Winter, Minneapolis; daughter, Deb (Mike) Lorang, Worthington; two daughters-in-law, Darlene Winter, St. Paul; and Mary Ann Winter, Worthington; grandchildren, Terry (Kristen) Winter, Larry (Jocyline) Winter, Crystal (Gavin) Medina, Kelly (Tom) Viellieux, Paul Schoneman, Matthew (Greta) Schoneman, Sam (Josh) Bottelberghe, Ken Gruenes, Michael (Kirsten) Winter, Jennifer LaMotte, Tammy (Kelly) McCarthy, Trisha (Keith) Heidebrink, Jody (Lance Holt and Justin (Allyson) Lorang; twenty eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Audrey Stanton, Fulda; Vivian Winter, Worthington; and Ila Murphy, Lakefield; and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold on June 1, 1997; three sons, Armond, LeRoy and Charles Winter; daughter, Mildred (James) Schoneman; two daughters-in-law, Darlene and Linda Winter; a granddaughter, Gina Gruenes; a great-granddaughter, Reagan Bottelberghe; two brothers, Doyle (Darlene) Stanton and Kenneth Stanton; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, family & friends.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday with, Parish Prayers at 7 pm, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Visitation also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. James Calahan and Deacon Vern Behrends. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery in Worthington.
