HELEN SHIRLEY ROOS, age 78, of Luverne, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at the Sanford Luverne Hospital. She was born January 9, 1929, in Luverne, to William and Marvel (Bing) Busse. She graduated from Luverne High School in 1947. Shirley married Russell Roos on January 6, 1950, in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple lived in rural Luverne. Shirley worked at the Luverne grocery store. The couple moved to Luverne in 1962. Shirley was the Home Delivered Meals Director, in Luverne, for over twenty five years. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, in Luverne, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School, Women?s Mission Society, Children?s Church; & Senior Focus. She was also a member of the Pink Ladies. Shirley enjoyed pen pals, Crosswords puzzles and the Minnesota Twins & Vikings. Shirley is survived by her husband, Russell Roos, Luverne; three children, Cheryl Roos, Luverne; Scott (Chris) Roos, Luverne; and Doug Roos, Sioux Falls, SD; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Daisy (Donald) Bergjord, Toronto, SD; and many nieces & nephews.
