Obituary

HENRIETTA MAY REMME, age 78, of Luverne, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the Sanford Hospital in Luverne. She was born May 14, 1931, on the family farm in rural Nobles County, to Glen and Reka (Giesen) Viessman. She attended country school in rural Nobles County. Henrietta married Leonard Remme on September 12, 1950, at Zion Lutheran Church in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple farmed north of Luverne before moving into Luverne in 1965. Henrietta worked as a sales clerk for many years in Luverne. She began working at Coast to Coast, then Creagers Clothing which later became Cooks Clothing, which later became Gabes. Henrietta retired in 2005. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne; the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; and the Pink Ladies. She enjoyed playing cards, going on trips and spending time with her grandchildren. Henrietta is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon & Tony Miller, Luverne; two granddaughters, Amanda (Justin) Vis, Leota; and Amber (Chris) Nath, Luverne; two great granddaughters, Courtney & Gracie Nath; brother, Melvin (Beverly) Viessman, Luverne; and two sisters, Alice Brandt, Beaver Creek; and Betty (Ron) Mulder, Luverne. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard, on March 27, 1997; an infant son, Larry, in 1952; and a brother, John Viessman.
