HENRY G. HEIDEMAN, age 80, of rural Rushmore, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. He was born February 19, 1928 on the family farm in Ransom Township to parents Henry and Anna (Bastow) Heideman. He attended country school in Ransom Township and after his schooling he farmed with his family. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his nation during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Japan. After his honorable discharge he returned to the family farm in Ransom Township. Henry was united in marriage to Louise Bents on December 28, 1971 in Sibley, IA. She preceded him in death on August 15, 1980. He was united in marriage to Rosemary Abels Hansen on April 10, 1982 at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. They continued farming in Ransom Township. He also worked at the Greenview Rest Area. He was a member of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church and also the American Legion Post in Ellsworth and the VFW Post in Worthington. He was a member of the Prairie Reapers and enjoyed restoring tractors and going to tractor shows. He also belonged to the Excel Camping group and enjoyed music shows and camping. He also enjoyed visiting with his family and friends and enjoyed blue grass music and old time country music. Henry is survived by his wife Rosemary Heideman, rural Rushmore; step-children, Don (Pat) Bents, Worthington; David (Linda) Bents, Texas; Dennis Bents, Mankato; Peter E. (Mary) Hansen, Minneapolis and Josie Hansen, Gig Habor, Washington; four step grandchildren, Greg Bents, Tammie Bents, Peter A. Hansen and Amber L. Hansen; two step great grandchildren; Jordan and Justin Bents; brothers and sisters, Margaret Grimmius, Worthington; Minnie Fath, Windom; Etta Remhof, Apple Valley; Jim (Gloria) Heideman, Rushmore and Frank Heideman, Luverne. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Louise, infant brother John and Fritz and Albert Heideman and a sister Ann Ennenga and a step grandson Eric Bents.
