Obituary

HENRY SIEFKES, JR. went to his eternal resting place, Heaven on Friday, September 23, 2011.  He was born February 21, 1930 in rural Jeffers, MN.  He was the son of Henry and Edna (Greenman) Seifkes. He attended grade school at District 75 in rural Jeffers and the University of Minnesota Agricultural School in St. Paul, MN graduating in 1948. He worked various jobs in Windom and the Mountain Lake area.
Henry accepted Jesus as his personal Savior at Greenhill Vacation Bible School at the age of fourteen.
Henry was united in marriage to Gladys Hartog on June 19, 1959 at the First Baptist Church in Luverne, MN.  After their marriage the couple lived in Mankato, Lake Crystal, St. James, Hastings and Luverne, MN.  The last thirty-three years they lived in Worthington.
Henry worked in several automotive parts business' managing a store in Hastings and was the owner of the NAPA store in Luverne.
Two quotations from customers, "If Henry doesn't have the part you don't need it" and "Most knowledgeable partsman I've ever known".  Henry also managed apartment complexes and did commercial cleaning and maintenance work in Worthington.  He was very mechanical and could fix about anything.
His nieces and nephews were very special to him and many of the called him "Uncle Junior".  Henry enjoyed sharing bubble gum with children. He would purchase 25# at a time.
Henry was an active faithful member in several Baptist churches serving as deacon, trustee, treasurer, financial secretary, Sunday school teacher, prayer meeting leader, youth worker, choir member, Awana leader and maintenance worker.
He was an avid reader especially the Bible.  He enjoyed traveling, sporty cars, fishing and hunting.
Henry is survived by his wife Gladys, Worthington; two brothers, Dick (LuVerne) Siefkes, Darfur, MN; Russell (Phyllis) Denver, CO; sister, Joyce (LaRue) Cooke, Plymouth, MN; many nieces and nephews and special cousin, Robert (Adonna) Evers, Springfield, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Cecil and James, nephew Jeffrey, niece Rebecca and sister-in-law, Betty.
