HERMAN J. MULDER, age 91, of rural Adrian, died Friday, December 24, 2010, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. He was born October 30, 1919, in Grand Prairie Township, to John and Helen (Nanninga) Mulder. Herman attended country school in Grand Prairie Township and he also attended Sunday school at the Congregational Church in Ellsworth. Herman married Fannie DeBoer on January 12, 1946, at the Methodist Parsonage in Adrian. After their marriage, the couple farmed south of Adrian all of their married lives. Herman became a resident of the Parkview Manor Nursing Home on August 12, 2010. He was a member of the Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth for sixty one years where he had served as a Trustee. He enjoyed farming, his cat Honey, and visiting with family & friends. Herman is survived by his son, Jim Mulder, rural Adrian; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Charles & Gerda Janssen, Luverne; sister-in-law, Lena Wiertzema, Ellsworth; five nephews, Duane (Joyce) Mulder, Luverne; Dave (Jerre) Wiertzema, Adrian; Steve Janssen, Alturas, CA; Mark (Sharon) Janssen, Ellsworth; and Harlan (Doraliza) DeBoer, Wyle, TX; three nieces, Nancy (Larry) Haas, Newtonia, MO; Diane Janssen, Alturas, CA; and Linda (Russ) Guerue, Brookings, SD; and many great nieces & nephews; and great great nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Fannie in 1974; brother, Henry Mulder; two sisters, Minnie Mulder; and Grace Bos; and many brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Tuesday at the Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Funeral will be 2 PM Wednesday at the Zion Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. David Poppen. Burial will be in the Grand Prairie Cemetery in Ellsworth.
