IRENE B BOCKWOLDT, age 91, of Worthington, Minnesota, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Ecumen Meadows, in Worthington. Irene was born January 24, 1926 to Hans and Alma (Untiedt) Bockwoldt in Round Lake Township. She attended school in rural school until the seventh grade. Irene then went to Sioux Valley school, where she graduated in 1943. She worked on the farm along with her brothers until they retired in 1967.

In the winter Irene did some rug weaving, she continued rug weaving when they moved to Worthington. After moving to Worthington Irene began making quilts.

Irene and her brothers joined The American Lutheran Church in 1968. She also helped her brothers get ready for sales.

Irene is survived by two nieces, Linda Paulsen of Round Lake; and Donna (Keith) Prentice of Terril, IA; numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, William, Walter, Edwin, and Raymond; three sisters, Velma, Alice, and Helen Paulsen.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 6 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington with Pastor Gary Andersen officiating. Burial will be at the Sioux Valley Cemetery.
