IRENE MAE JENSEN, age 95, of Luverne, died Sunday, November 9, 2008, at the Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan Home in Luverne. She was born January 28, 1913, in Doon, IA, to Hugo and Dora (Bartscher) Prahl. Irene was baptized on March 22, 1915. She graduated from Luverne High School and later worked for many years at Myhre Studio in Luverne. Irene married Andrew ?Bertel? Jensen on September 11, 1946, at the United Methodist Church in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Kanaranzi Township. In 1952 they moved to Luverne. Irene was a homemaker. After her two boys were older, she worked part-time for Gambles Hardware and later for Goehle Hardware in Luverne. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Luverne; the United Methodist Women; the Friendship Club at church; and a neighborhood crocheting group. She enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening and visiting with her kids and grandkids. Irene is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law: Stephen & Charlene Jensen, West Bend, WI; and Jeff & Deanna Jensen, Odessa, MN; four grandchildren, Jeannette Jensen, John Jensen, Stephen (Kim) Jensen and Stephanie (Brad) Lambrecht; seven great grandchildren, Jordan, Matthew, Joshua, Kristen (Mike) Goodwin, Amanda, Brittany & Emily; two great-great grandchildren, Raphael & Ryan Alyssa; a brother-in-law, Roger (Gerri) Jensen, Slayton, MN; a sister-in-law, Jane Jensen, Richfield, MN; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Vincent & Forrest Prahl; a sister, Gladys Halsne; and her husband, Bertel, on April 11, 2007.
