IRENE L. WANDERSEE, age 86, of Luverne, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne. She was born June 28, 1924, in Milbank, SD, to Martin and Gertrude (Croymans) Van Lith. She graduated from Buffalo High School. Irene married Harvey Wandersee on June 30, 1945, in Delano. After their marriage, the couple farmed in rural Buffalo. They also lived in Madison, SD before moving to Luverne in 1963. While raising three children, Irene worked as a seamstress and also sewed draperies for many years. She was a Homemaker and a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne; and the Luverne Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed several activities and also taking trips to visit loved ones in the Minneapolis, Chicago & Phoenix area. Irene is survived by her husband, Harvey Wandersee, Luverne; three children, Diane (Bob) Olson, Sun City West, AZ; Renee (Craig) Surdy, Palm Springs, CA; and Todd (Carol) Wandersee, Minnetonka; five grandchildren, Brendan (Michelle) Olson, Janelle (Chris) Kandziora, Craig Ryan Jr., Mikayla Wandersee & Jarod Wandersee; two great grandchildren, Victoria Olson & Aiden Kandziora; and two brothers, Leonard (Micky) Van Lith, Loretto; and Lambert (Liz) Van Lith, Buffalo. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Case, Fritz, Martin & Art; and three sisters, Dorothy, Martha & Gert.
