IVO JON LOOSBROCK, age 77, of St. Kilian, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at the Sanford Regional Hospital in Worthington. He was born August 21, 1931, in Lismore, to Alvin and Lenora (Pick) Loosbrock. Ivo attended St. Anthony & St. Kilian Catholic Schools. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1954. Ivo married Frances Klooster on January 7, 1954 in Heron Lake. In 1955, after Ivo returned from the service, the couple began farming south of St. Kilian. Ivo also worked for the United States Department of Agriculture from 1963 to 1989. During his retirement, He co-managed with his wife, Frances, Loos-Change Car Wash Inc. in Adrian. He was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church, where he had served as Trustee, he was the first lay person to be a reader & Eucharistic minister; St. Kilian School PTA President; the Catholic Order of Foresters Lismore Council since 1942; St, Kilian Society Member since 1947, where he had served as Financial Secretary from 1957 to 1992; a Life member of the Knights of Columbus Lismore Council since 1957, where he had served as Deputy Grand Knight, Grand Knight & served on the Audit Board; Holy Name Society since 1954; a Life member of the VFW Pacholl Moser Post #2603 since 1955; MNASCOE from 1963 to 1989; Retired Association of State & County Office Employees since 1990; Kanaranzi Little Rock Watershed Board; and the Wilmont Township Board serving as Town Clerk for fifteen years. Ivo is survived by his wife, Frances, five children, Doug (Laura) Loosbrock, Lismore; Brad Loosbrock, Champlin; John (Louise) Loosbrock, Excelsior; Eric (Brenda) Loosbrock, Chaska; and Kelly (Holly) Loosbrock, Chaska; fourteen grandchildren, Josh, Dan (Jessica), Jeremy (Gina), Carmel (Brad), Bryn, Ian, Aletha, Cory, Brittany, Jordan, Max, Ethan, Isaac & Hope; four great grandchildren, Thomas, Kira, Ava & Mia; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tom, in 1999; great granddaughter, Isabella Korchinski; and five brothers, Francis, John, Joseph, Glen & Arvin.
