IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jackie (Gerloff)
Terpstra
April 21, 1936 – September 11, 2024
Jacqueline ("Jackie") Terpstra, age 88, long-time resident of Worthington, and most recently of Minnetonka, MN, passed away on September 11, 2024. Jackie was born to Arthur and Ruth Gerloff on April 21, 1936 at Little Rock, Iowa.
Jackie married Marvin Terpstra on September 20, 1955. They initially lived in Sibley, IA before building their home in Worthington, MN where they raised their two daughters, Michon and Darci. Marvin and Jackie moved to Ecumen Meadows in September 2018. Jackie moved to Amira Minnetonka in Minnetonka, MN after Marvin passed away in October, 2020.
Jackie started working for Mork Law Office (subsequently Mork, Darling, Hageman & Kohler) in 1967 and continued working there as a secretary/legal assistant/tax preparer/coffee and Diet Coke drinker until she finally fully retired in October, 2016. She valued her time at the law office, especially the deep and lasting friendships that developed with her co-workers.
Jackie and Marvin were constant in their service to God and opened their home for a fellowship gathering for more than 50 years. Jackie had a true spirit of giving of herself. Her unconditional love and willingness to give of her time and energy was realized time and time again by not only her natural family, but by countless others that came into her world that needed her special blend of care, laughter, and love. Even to the end, her sweet smile, gentle and thankful spirit, and delightful little jokes and laugh spoke to those who cared for her.
During the latter years, Jackie and Marvin enjoyed taking various trips with friends and golfing as often as possible. They made it their mission to get out with their grandchildren, other family members, and friends as much as they could. There are many stories involving the golf course and the kids or Grandma driving the golf cart! However, even more than golf, Jackie absolutely delighted in any time spent with her grandchildren. They have endless memories of trips, golf games, board games and other activities planned for them with Grandma and Grandpa. The laughs would go on and on. Jackie also spread that special "Jackie spirit" with nieces, nephews, and countless others that were treated just like family when they came into her orbit. Her spunk, laughter, and grace will be remembered and missed by many.
Jackie is survived by two daughters, Michon (Harold) Hartsuiker, Golden Valley, MN and their children and grandchildren, Collin (Michelle) and their children, Logan, Grant, Carter and Joshua, Springfield, IL, and Alec (Amanda), Brookfield, WI; and Darci (Bryan) Kihle, Minnetonka, MN and their children, Allyson, Minnetonka, MN, Kelsey (Cody) Olmscheid and their daughter, Stella, Sartell, MN, and Luke, Minneapolis, MN; siblings, Beth Husman, Robbinsdale, MN, Roger Gerloff, Golden Valley, MN, Randy (Cheri) Gerloff, Sioux Falls, SD and sister-in-law, Virginia Gerloff, Little Rock, IA, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; and two siblings.
