JACQUELIN RUTH PRONK, age 72, of Leota, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born on November 29, 1938, in Hull, IA, to Jacob and Wilhelmina (Scholten) DeJong. She was raised in the Leota area and graduated from Edgerton Public High School in 1956. Jackie was united in marriage to Ron Pronk on September 15, 1959. They were lifelong residents of Leota and members of Bethel Reformed Church. She was actively involved in Bethel?s Children?s and Women?s Ministries as well as her local Women?s Community Bible Study Group. Her life was filled with her grandchildren?s activities, assisting in the family business, and helping others any way she could. She loved sewing, quilting, and her daily walks. Jackie is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ron, of 51 years and children and grandchildren: Holly and Kevin Gruys (Latoya and Trevor) of Burnsville, MN, Jeff and Arla Pronk (AJ, Ryan, and Jaci) of Edgerton, MN, Heidi and James Scott (Tia and Kolby) of Sioux Falls, SD; brother, Leroy, and sisters, Esther, Jean and Arla; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Don.
