JAKE BUSS, age 95, of Lismore, died Friday, March 19, 2010, at the Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne. He was born August 8, 1914, in Westside Township, rural Nobles County, to Tony and Tena (Westerbur) Buss. Jake attended country school in rural Nobles County. He farmed with his family near Ellsworth and later near Hardwick. Jake married Gladys Stuckenbroker on June 27, 1943, in Ellsworth. The couple farmed west of Adrian from 1944 to 1946. In 1946, they moved to the farm southwest of Lismore. He enjoyed farming and attending farm sales. Jake became a resident of the Mary Jane Brown Home on March 31, 2009. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Lismore, where he had served as Trustee. He loved to play the accordion and attend house dances. Jake is survived by his wife, Gladys Buss, rural Lismore; four children, Betty Jean Kafka, Mesa, AZ; Darlene (Gerald) Thaden, Marvin, SD; Jake Buss Jr., rural Lismore; and Burdell Buss, St. Paul; five grandchildren, Anita Slagle, Ardell (Cathy) Kafka, Jane (Steve) Lawson, Rodney (Rebecca) Thaden & Aurora (Jody) Heard; and four great grandchildren, Anthony Kafka, Natalie Thaden, Prairie Lawson & Kerrie Lawson. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Stanley, in 2003; seven brothers, Albert, Arend, Tony, Theodore, George, Carl & Roy Buss; and six sisters, Freada Kruize, Tena Terhark, Genevieve Peterson, Margaret Hunt, Alvina Buss & Evelyn Biss
