JAMES W. KRUSE, age 75, of Jasper died Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the
Good Samaritan Society in Pipestone. He was born on August 15, 1937 in Lyon County, IA to parents, Louis and Henrietta (Wolf) Kruse. He attended rural school in Iowa. After his schooling he worked for Russell Peters near Little Rock, IA and then began farming on his own.
James married the love of his life, Lorenza Timmer on February 6, 1959, in George, IA. The couple farmed in various communities including Little Rock, IA; Kanaranzi, Leota & Jasper, MN. He lived near Jasper until February 19, 2013 when he moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Pipestone.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Luverne. He was a Minnesota Vikings fan.  He enjoyed going to Lange's Café and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed watching westerns. His favorite cowboy hero was Roy Rogers and he enjoyed working with horses.
James is survived by his seven children, Cheryl (special friend, Mike) Kruse, Pipestone; Charlene Kruse, Pipestone; Daryl (Shirlene) Kruse, Worthington; David (Kristina) Kruse, Jasper; Lorie (Harlan) Kruid, Steen; Lorin (Jami) Kruse, Baltic, SD; and Chellsea (fiancée, Alex Freeman), Pipestone; seventeen grandchildren, Justin, Dalton, Whitney, Jennifer, Michael, Brookelynn, Jordyn (fiancée, Josh), Ryan, Heidi (Fiancée, Josh), Randi (Rob) Sayles, Tyler, Derek, Larissa, Nathan, Jenna, Jayden & Anthony; one brother, Louis Gene Kruse, Hardwick, MN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Art and Gertrude Timmer, Little Rock, IA;  brother-in-law, Marvin Timmer, Ireton, IA;  brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Keith and Janelle Van Drunen, George, IA and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
James was preceded in death by his wife Lorenza, his parents and stepmother, and his brother Robert Kruse.
